EMDR
EMDR: Processing What is "Stuck"
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based clinical therapy designed to help the brain process distressing memories and past trauma. When we experience a difficult event, the brain can sometimes struggle to "file" that memory correctly, leaving us feeling highly reactive, on edge, or "stuck" in old patterns.
EMDR helps the brain "re-file" these experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional charge in your present life.

How a Typical EMDR Session Works
Remote EMDR is a structured clinical process designed to lower the emotional charge of difficult memories. We move through three essential phases to ensure your safety and progress:
PHASE 1: PREPARATION We begin by building "internal resources"—practical grounding tools you can use to feel steady, safe, and regulated both during and after our sessions.
PHASE 2: REPROCESSING Using secure, specialized software designed specifically for virtual EMDR, your brain is guided to reprocess specific memories, shifting them from "active and painful" to "neutral and resolved."
PHASE 3: INTEGRATION We conclude every session with calming exercises, ensuring you feel mentally regulated and ready to return to your day with a clear sense of closure.
How it Works Remotely
I utilize secure, specialized technology designed specifically for virtual bilateral stimulation, allowing for deep healing from the comfort of your own space.
Advanced Bilateral Stimulation: Instead of following a therapist’s hand, you follow a calibrated visual cue on your screen or use synchronized auditory tones through your headphones.
A Familiar Environment for Safety: Doing this work in your own space—perhaps with a favourite blanket or a pet nearby—can significantly enhance your sense of safety and grounding.
Seamless Transition to Self-Care: Without the stress of a commute, you can move directly from a session into your at-home self-care routine, protecting the "vulnerable window" that often follows deep processing.
Early Access: I am currently integrating Remote EMDR into my clinical strategy. Please contact me directly if you are interested in incorporating EMDR into your recovery plan.
Is Remote EMDR Right for You?
This approach is an excellent clinical fit for those who:
Value Privacy & Safety: If you feel more vulnerable in a traditional office and prefer the security and comfort of your own home.
Seek Lasting Resolution: If you are ready to move past "just coping" and toward a functional, permanent resolution of "stuck" patterns.
Prioritize Flexibility: If you want high-level trauma support without the added stress of travel, parking, or public waiting rooms.
